So its 9 am and I’m sitting in Logan airport waiting to fly home for winter break. I woke up at 7:10 am for my 7:30 flight and obviously didn’t make it. The worst part is that all the planes are delayed because its snowing in Boston so there is a good chance that my flight hadn’t actually left when I got to the airport.
The women that talked to on the phone to rebook my flight was very nice and she booked me on a 10:17 flight that connects through Cincinnati. I don’t think that flight is going to be on time, but its the best that I could do.

So now its 8pm and I’m still at Logan airport. It turns out that my original flight didn’t leave on time as I expected. I was able to get a seat on that flight….bad decision. We boarded the plane for the second time at noon and sat on the runway until 4. We had to have the plane de-iced twice. It was such a long time that we were able to watch the entire in flight movie while still at the gate. Once we did get on the runway our pilots were timed out, they couldn’t legally fly because they had been working so long.
I was able to book a seat on the 5:50pm BOS to LAX flight (notice that it’s 8pm right now) and we are still at the gate. Hopefully this plane makes it out in the near future. I’ll probably be getting into LA around 12 or 1 am which means that ill only be 13 hours late from my original arrival time.
The Delta rebooking people were really nice and actually gave competent advice. It’s just unfortunate that Delta and Logan Airport have absolutely no idea how to run an airport that has snow.
My day:
Arrive 7:30 am
3.5 hours in waiting area
5 hours on tarmac (flight cancelled)
1 hour booking new flight
2 hours in waiting area
1.5+ hours on tarmac
